Cambridgeshire ACRE is looking for a new Trustee & Treasurer to join our Board at a time when rural communities are facing both significant challenges and new opportunities.

The Treasurer is a full member of the Board of Trustees and plays an important role in helping the organisation remain financially resilient, strategically focused and well governed. This is not an operational bookkeeping role and we are not necessarily seeking someone with a formal accountancy qualification. Instead, we are looking for someone who is confident interpreting financial information and contributing to strategic discussions and decision-making.

We would particularly welcome interest from people with experience in business leadership, charity governance, parish and town councils or strategic financial oversight.

For more than 100 years, Cambridgeshire ACRE has worked alongside rural communities across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, helping local people create positive and lasting change. Today, our work spans rural housing, community wellbeing, village halls, environmental action and rural leadership.

Across the county, communities are navigating rising costs, changing public services, pressure on community facilities, housing challenges and increasing isolation. At the same time, rural communities continue to show remarkable resilience, creativity and determination to shape their own futures. Cambridgeshire ACRE exists to support that local action.

Being a Trustee is an opportunity to contribute your skills and experience to an organisation that has supported rural communities for more than a century, while also developing your own understanding of governance, leadership and the rural sector.

We know that many people rule themselves out of trustee roles because they do not meet every requirement listed on a role description. Please don’t let that stop you getting in touch.
