What is the Fenland Youth Connect Project?

The Fenland Youth Connect project is built on Cambridgeshire ACRE’s successful Community Hubs model, which has already demonstrated significant impact in reducing isolation and improving wellbeing across Cambridgeshire. This project sets out to establish three youth-focused community hubs in Fenland, specifically designed to support young people aged 16–21 who are experiencing mental health challenges due to isolation. These hubs will operate during evenings providing safe, welcoming spaces for social interaction, access to mental health resources, and participation in structured activities.

Each hub will offer a range of activities including creative arts, sports/ fitness, peer support groups and mental health workshops such as mindfulness and stress-relief sessions. A Youth Support Worker will provide tailored 1:1 outreach, signposting young people to counselling, income maximisation and other essential services. The project will recruit and train local youth volunteers to help run the hubs, fostering leadership and community engagement.
