District forums for community buildings launch
Cambridgeshire ACRE is launching a series of district forums for trustees, staff and volunteers involved in running village halls and community buildings.
These informal, local meet-ups are part of a new pilot designed to strengthen connections between neighbouring organisations and create space for practical peer support.
District forums bring together people who understand the day-to-day realities of managing community buildings. Rather than following a fixed agenda, each session is shaped by those in the room.
What to expect
The forums are designed to be open, practical and participant-led. They offer an opportunity to:
- meet other volunteers and centre managers working locally
- share experiences and practical solutions
- talk honestly about current challenges
- hear short updates or explore topics chosen by attendees
Sessions are relaxed and supportive, with an emphasis on discussion rather than presentations. Over time, the aim is for forums to become increasingly shaped and led by the people who attend, with Cambridgeshire ACRE providing light-touch support.
This approach reflects learning from early pilot activity, where trustees valued the chance to connect locally and share real-world experience in a structured but informal setting.
