From vision to action: building a practical business plan for your community building

29 September 2026

Online via Zoom

About this event

This practical online session will help trustees and volunteers develop a working business plan for their community building.

The session focuses on why business planning matters, what a useful plan looks like in practice and how to get started without it feeling overwhelming.

Through discussion and a short breakout exercise, participants will reflect on their building’s purpose, users and risks and leave with clear, realistic next steps they can take.

Who should attend?

Trustees, committee members and volunteers responsible for running community buildings, including village halls, community centres and similar local assets.

The session will be particularly relevant for those who:

  • do not yet have a business plan
  • have a plan that is out of date or not actively used
  • are facing pressures such as rising costs, declining volunteer capacity or uncertainty about future use
