New digital kit strengthens support at Little Thetford Community Hub
Earlier this week, our Chief Executive, Hayley Neal, visited Little Thetford Community Hub to drop off new digital equipment for local volunteers to use with attendees.
The kit, which includes a laptop, a tablet and a printer‑scanner, will support the Hub’s Digital Champions to help people get online and build their digital confidence in a safe, welcoming setting. This support ranges from basic tasks such as setting up email, to helping people access online services that are increasingly becoming the default.
Little Thetford is one of ten Community Hubs across Cambridgeshire now supported by trained Digital Champions, with equipment funded through Cambridgeshire County Council’s Digital Hubs Grant Scheme.
As more services move online, local, face‑to‑face support remains essential. Community Hubs play a practical role in reducing digital exclusion, particularly for rural residents who may otherwise struggle to access help.
The County Council’s Digital Hubs Grant Scheme is now open for a further round of funding. If your community would like to set up a digital hub, please take a look at the fund webpage.
