Cambridgeshire ACRE is a trusted voice for rural communities. Much of this work happens behind the scenes as we speak up for villages, parishes and market towns so their priorities are not overlooked. We advocate on behalf of our members, making sure rural needs are clearly heard in policy discussions, funding decisions and regional planning.
We also champion rural proofing, pressing for policies and services to be tested against the realities of rural life. By ensuring that decision makers consider the unique challenges and opportunities of rural areas, we help secure fairer outcomes for the people who live and work here.
By building strong relationships with councils, funders and national partners, we help unlock investment and influence decisions that affect everyday rural life. Our expertise gives community groups the guidance and confidence to lead their own projects, while our advocacy ensures issues like housing, climate resilience and inclusion remain firmly on the agenda.
Through membership, partnerships and consultancy, Cambridgeshire ACRE strengthens its role as the county’s rural infrastructure body. This leadership helps communities access opportunities, secure funding and shape a more sustainable future.
