Linda Watson
As Cambridgeshire ACRE’s Finance Officer, I ensure our finances are accurate, transparent and support confident decision-making and sustainable community impact.
I support colleagues and partners by making sure finances are handled carefully and transparently, so decisions can be taken with confidence. By providing clear financial insight and ensuring payments reach suppliers and community groups promptly, I help frontline support continue smoothly. Alongside this, I contribute to the CHESS project, helping ensure practical help reaches residents facing real hardship.
My work matters because many rural and voluntary services operate on tight margins, with little room for delay or uncertainty. Strong financial stewardship underpins sustainable community action, especially as cost pressures and vulnerability increase. By safeguarding resources and using them responsibly, Cambridgeshire ACRE can continue to support communities consistently and with integrity.
A moment that mattered to me
“A family reliant on a coal fire were struggling with ill health and the cost of heating. I helped arrange a coal delivery at a critical time. That simple, practical action meant they could stay warm, safe and comfortable during a very difficult period.”
