As Cambridgeshire ACRE’s Chief Executive, I believe communities are better able to shape their future when they feel heard, valued and supported to influence the decisions that affect them. I work to ensure people living in rural areas gain access to the housing, services and opportunities they need to live well and with confidence.

 

I work alongside local communities, partners and decision-makers to understand challenges and turn ideas into practical action. This includes developing projects, securing funding and advocating for rural needs so that local voices are reflected in policies and services. Building strong relationships is central to this, creating trust and enabling communities to take forward solutions that work for them.

This work matters because many rural challenges – such as limited transport, lack of affordable housing and reduced access to services – can remain hidden. By championing rural communities and supporting volunteers, Cambridgeshire ACRE helps ensure these issues are recognised and addressed, strengthening resilience and sustainability across the wider system.
