Fenland Community Cancer Champion
Flexible
Fenland only
Ongoing
Are you looking for a local volunteering opportunity that will allow you to make a positive difference in the place you call home?
If you live in Fenland then we are looking for volunteers to join our new team of Community Cancer Champions. Please note that as this project only operates in Fenland, you must live in this district or it surrounds to take part.
It is proven that the earlier cancer is diagnosed, the better the chances of survival. Encouraging people to go and seek help early from their doctor is how we can easily give them the best chance of receiving good treatment outcomes.
Data shows that people living in Fenland are less likely to spot cancer symptoms and less likely to go for help. We want to change this, but we need your help to do so. Our Community Cancer Champions will work alongside us to increase cancer survival rates and improve the lives of people living in Fenland.
The role description, which you can download below, tells you more about what we see our Community Cancer Champions doing. There’s no minimum regular time commitment required; we are just looking for people who want to do something meaningful in their local community.
There is, however, a requirement to attend an initial half-day training session which will be held in-person at a local Fenland venue.
If you can see yourself becoming a Fenland Community Cancer Champion, please complete our short online application form and one of our team will be in touch to discuss your application further and talk about next steps.
