About this event

Across our villages and market towns, local people are working hard to create places where residents feel connected, valued and able to thrive. Many parish councils, village halls, community hubs and volunteer-led groups are seeing similar issues: loneliness, volunteer capacity, community engagement and supporting residents through changing times.

This free one-hour Staying Connected event will bring together people who care about community wellbeing to share what they are seeing locally, explore practical ways to build stronger everyday connections and consider how local organisations can work together to reduce loneliness and isolation. The session will include insights from recent parish council engagement, examples of local partnership working and space for participants to share questions and ideas.

 

Who should attend?

This session is aimed at people and organisations with an interest in safer, more connected rural communities, including:

• Town and parish councillors
• Parish clerks and council officers
• Village hall and community building trustees or volunteers
• Community hub volunteers and group leaders
• Community champions and anyone involved in local wellbeing, belonging or resident support

Whether you are already leading local activity or want to understand how your organisation can play a stronger connecting role, the session will offer practical ideas and peer learning you can take back into your community.
