Carers Connect Hub
About the project
The Carers Connect Hub is a new digital initiative from Cambridgeshire ACRE, created to support unpaid carers living in Fenland.
Funded through Cambridgeshire County Council’s Care Together programme, the hub provides a welcoming online space for carers to find information, connect with others and receive emotional support, without needing to leave home.
We know that many unpaid carers experience isolation, stress and burnout, especially when caring duties make it difficult to access in-person services. This project ensures that carers can find support in a way that works for them.
What the Hub offers
Hosted on a secure platform called Mighty Networks, the Carers Connect Hub offers:
- Themed chat rooms for different types of carers (e.g. dementia, cancer, bereavement)
- A resource library full of useful guides and signposting information
- Weekly live support sessions, led by trained Village Agents
- An events calendar with webinars, workshops and wellbeing sessions
- A friendly, supportive community where carers can feel seen and understood
Who is it for?
The hub is open to unpaid carers in Fenland, especially older adults who are caring for a partner, relative or friend. You don’t need a formal diagnosis or to be registered as a carer, if you’re supporting someone regularly, this space is for you.
How to join
- You can join the hub in just a few simple steps:
- Visit https://carers-connect-hub.mn.co/ or scan the QR code on our printed leaflets
- Create a free account
- Start exploring the community
You can also download the Mighty Networks app from the App Store or Google Play to access the hub on your phone or tablet.
Need help getting online?
If you’re unsure about using digital tools or need a bit of help getting started, we’ve got you covered. Please contact: Lisa Hill, Village Agent via telephone 01353 865024 | 07484 053087 or email: lisa.hill@cambsacre.org.uk.
Help spread the word
We know that not every carer will hear about Carers Connect on their own. That is why we are asking local organisations, healthcare professionals and community leaders to help to reach those who might need a little extra encouragement. Whether you can share a flyer, refer someone directly or simply pass the message on, every action helps us build a stronger caring community in Fenland.
- Download our flyer to share electronically or display in community spaces.
- Refer a carer who could benefit from extra support through our quick online form. Our trained Village Agent can offer friendly encouragement and help over the phone if needed.
If you would prefer printed copies of our posters or flyers, please email us at enquiries@cambsacre.org.uk.
Get involved
We’re always looking for carers who want to help shape the future of the hub. As the community grows, we’ll be inviting members to become volunteer moderators to help run chat rooms and welcome new members.
If you’re interested, let us know once you’ve joined the hub.
