Working to strengthen local

Wisbech CLLD Call for Project Applications

27 July 2020

We are very excited to announce a new opportunity from the Wisbech Community Led Local Development Programme (CLLD).

This scheme, funded by the European Social Fund and delivered by Cambridgeshire ACRE, enables local people, businesses, social enterprises, voluntary and community sector organisations to tackle a broad range of issues that present barriers to labour market participation. We are looking to fund projects that help to tackle these issues through working with the unemployed, economically inactive, and marginalised communities to:
• Develop workplace skills (e.g. information technology)
• Offer advice
• Increase aspirations
• Provide solutions to transport issues
• Improve education opportunities

These key aims are outlined in more detail in the Wisbech Local Development Strategy.

The Wisbech CLLD area covers the whole of Wisbech Town and parts of surrounding parishes including areas of Walsoken, Emneth and Elm & Friday Bridge. Whilst organisations applying for funding can be based outside of this area, the people they support must live in this area.

Projects applying for funding must have a minimum total project cost of £20,000 of which up to 50% can be grant from Wisbech CLLD Programme. After Expressions of Interest (EOI) have been submitted, these will be considered by the Local Action Group (LAG) made up of public, private and voluntary and community sector representatives that have the power to bring forward and fund projects in line with the Local Development Strategy. If accepted, projects will then be invited to fill out a Full Application.

We are looking for projects to start by 1 January 2021 and be completed by 31 March 2022.

Guidance on the process and submitting an Expression of Interest can be found here. For any further questions please contact Samantha Smith.

Please note the deadline for expressions of interest is Monday 17 August 2020 at 10am.
