Working to strengthen local

John Yates

21 January 2019

The staff and trustees at Cambridgeshire ACRE were very sad to learn early this morning of the death of John Yates.

John became a trustee of Cambridgeshire ACRE in May 2004 and in November 2006 became the Chairman, serving until early 2018. In an organisation the size of Cambridgeshire ACRE, the Chair role is a voluntary one, but nevertheless a very demanding one. Records show John was one of the longest-serving Chairs of Cambridgeshire ACRE, undertaking the role for over 12 years.

John always had time for others and through his extensive voluntary work demonstrated his commitment to the communities of Cambridgeshire.

John will be greatly missed by all at Cambridgeshire ACRE as a long-term colleague and friend. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
