Village Halls Week Coming Soon

10 January 2018

Did you know that 47,500 packets of biscuits and 743,000 cups of tea are consumed in village halls across the country every week? This equates to nearly 2.5 million packs of biscuits and almost 10 million gallons of tea a year!

This only goes to prove that village halls and community buildings are at the heart of rural communities and this year, for the first time, ACRE (the rural development charity) is delighted to be running the first ever #villagehallsweek.

In the week commencing 22 January community buildings will be celebrated through social media, local events and visits to village halls from local dignitaries.

Cambridgeshire ACRE is working with village halls across the County to help them promote themselves and raising awareness of the important role they play. We have created a short briefing setting out the critical role community buildings play in rural communities, which you can download from the resources and downloads area on the right-hand-side of this page.
